About Dr. Noel

Dr. Becca Noel, MS, DVM is an Emergency Veterinarian with additional training and experience in surgery and critical care, dedicated to delivering high-level medicine that is both accessible and compassionate.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, she moved to New Orleans to attend Tulane University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. She went on to complete her Master’s in Biomolecular Science at Lipscomb University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee. 

Following her formal training—including a rotating internship, surgical internship, and orthopedic fellowship—Dr. Noel began her career at MedVet Dallas as a critical care hospitalist. There, she managed complex inpatient cases as part of the critical care service, working alongside leading veterinary specialists and developing a strong foundation in advanced, team-based medicine.

During this time, she also worked as a traveling emergency veterinarian, flying across the country to support hospitals in Virginia, Alabama, Texas, and beyond—providing emergency coverage, managing high-acuity cases, and adapting quickly to a wide range of hospital environments.

She later continued with MedVet in New Orleans, where she served as an emergency veterinarian and emergency surgeon—sharing call with boarded surgeons and performing urgent, life-saving procedures in a high-acuity setting.

Most recently, Dr. Noel served as the ER Director at Metairie Small Animal Hospital, where she led a high-volume emergency service with a focus on mentorship, clinical excellence, and building sustainable systems for both patient care and team development. 

Through these experiences, she recognized a significant gap in veterinary medicine: many families are priced out of corporate specialty hospitals. NOLA ER Vet was created to bridge that gap.

Her goal is simple—deliver the same thoughtful, experienced, emergency-level care you’d expect from a specialty hospital, but in a more accessible, personalized setting. When hospital-level care is truly in your pet’s best interest, she will always guide you there. And when appropriate, she will work with you to provide high-quality care at home that respects both your pet’s needs and your budget.

 Outside of work, Dr. Noel enjoys life in New Orleans with her 4.75 cats and 2 dogs—each named after professional athletes—and spends her time riding in the Krewe of Iris, celebrating Mardi Gras traditions, and enjoying crafting, reading, yoga, and time with friends.
